What is a Solar inverter?

A solar inverter is a device that transforms the variable DC (DC) output of a photovoltaic. (PV) solar module into a commercial grid or used in a local off-grid network. This is an important balance of the system components . BOS) of the photovoltaic system .And normal AC power supplies can be used. Solar inverters have special functions. that are suitable for photovoltaic arrays.Such as: Maximum Power Point Tracking and Remote Island Protection. These inverters are most commonly used in solar systems, UPS system and solar pumps.

How does a solar inverter work?

The working principle of a solar inverter is to take a variable DC. Output from a solar panel and convert it to a 120V / 240V “AC” output. Devices use alternating current instead of direct current. Therefore, the solar inverter needs to change the DC output collected by the solar panel.

Technically speaking, the sun illuminates solar panels (or photovoltaic (PV) cells) . Made of semiconductor layers made of crystalline silicon or gallium arsenide. These layers are a combination of positive and negative layers connected by a connection.

When exposed to sunlight, the semiconductor layer absorbs light and sends energy to the solar cell. This energy flows loses electrons in the collision. And moves between the positive and negative layers. creating a current called direct current (DC). To the inverter (depending on the type of system used).

Types of solar inverters

Battery Inverters

If you have to retrofit the battery in your solar system or if you want to disconnect. The battery from the solar panel and run it through a different inverter, the battery inverter is the best choice.

Central Inverters

Like large metal cabinets, it is not suitable for living areas. Each “cabinet” can handle around 500 kilowatts of power. They are usually used commercially in large devices and practical solar parks.

Hybrid Inverters

Hybrid inverters, also known as “multimode inverters”, are extremely rare in Australia. . (if both the solar and the battery use an inverter. The DC from the solar panel charges the battery via a DC charger) .And its electronics organize the charging and discharge the batteries.

 Microinverters

As the name suggests, the microinverter is very small (book size!) And the ratio of solar panels to microinverter is 1:1. The main advantage of microinverters is that each solar panel.
